clutch or tranny

recently got my 2000gt out of the shop, thank god!! been missing it all winter. had to get the timming chain cover replaced. would have done it my self but didnt have all the pulley tools and didnknow how to sync it back up, anyways,,,,,since it is a 5speed i cant switch it into 5th gear at all no matter what speed. i can get it into reverse but it has to be fanessed into reverse and it will grind a few times before it goes. does anybody know if thats the syncros in the tranny and a tranny problem or a clutch problem. any advice would help. thanks. brian
